Black-and-white film photography from travels through Southern China in 2021. The series follows a slow ground-level route through towns, courtyards, and waterways — looking for the kind of detail that doesn't announce itself: a step worn smooth, a window left open, the way a tree holds a wall.
The grain of 35mm film, and the patience it enforces, does most of the work. What's left is what was there.
